Muscatine Fire Department
06/26/2026
The Iowa Donor Network visited the Muscatine Fire Department this week to present challenge coins to several firefighters whose professionalism and compassion made a profound difference in a family’s most difficult moment.
Firefighters Chad Whitehall, Brandon Rheingans, Connor Christiansen, Jason Summitt, Travis Edwards, and Alayna McKim were recognized for the exceptional care they provided to a patient who later passed away and became an organ donor. Their actions helped ensure that the patient’s final gift could bring hope and healing to others.
This recognition highlights the quiet, often unseen ways first responders support families, honor patients, and strengthen the lifesaving mission of organ donation.
A sincere thank‑you to these firefighters for their service, compassion, and dedication to the Muscatine community.
