Sweet gal is needing more care than we can provide.

Diagnosis (laymen’s terms): Open wound going down to ankle (tarsal) joint on right hindlimb. Bone fragments found in wound and the ankle appears to be broken on palpation. Wound closed in shelter and bandage placed.

Treatment Needed: Possible surgery needed on right hindlimb tarsal joint. Worried about infection of joint, leading to sepsis

Prognosis: poor for the right hindlimb. Possibly good for dog if wound and leg heal.

San Antonio should be ashamed. Shame on you. Get off your ass and find avenues to live outcomes. Start by getting rid of SAPA.
They are just there for donations to roll in,but none of that money
translates into animals saved from euthanasia,animals adopted, or animals sent out of state to shelters with room.They do nothing. Don’t give them money.

Hanky is a nervous boy, he came from a hanky-panky situation and ended up here at ACS, and is now searching for his furever home with some fur friends. Although he prefers his kind of furry friends, he believes they are the PAW-some kind and is not a fan of cats. Hanky will needs some leash training and he gets nervous during leashing.
