Less than 24 hours left until our crowdfunding campaign for Ukrainian Box is finished. We want to thank you all of you who supported us and who shared our posts. It really means a lot 💙💛
Unfortunately, we did not reach our goal.(unless a miracle will happen in the next 17 hours) By the terms of the fixed goal campaigns at the Indiegogo platform, if the goal is not achieved all the raised funds will return to its contributors.
At the moment, we are not able to continue. Futures updates about Ukrainian Box will be posted on Facebook, Instagram, and UkrainianBox.com

That was an excited journey, even though it was short.
Thank you for sharing it with us!

The postcards! Kardka is a creative Ukrainian brand, that creates original watercolor illustrations, postcards and holiday printing. Each image is always a part of someone's history, music, friendship and love. “Simplicity, sincerity, love and brightness of color”, this is how the author, Katia Partika, describes her work. Your Ukrainian Box will have the Independence Edition with two postcards in the shape of Ukraine.

The first postcard, the colorful one, is in the shape of Ukraine and filled with Petrykivka painting. It is a traditional Ukrainian decorative painting style, originating from the village of Petrykivka in the Dnipropetrovsk region of Ukraine, where it was traditionally used to decorate house walls and everyday household items.

The second postcard has the colors of the Ukrainian flag. The blue and the yellow of Ukraine's flag represent the country's role as Europe's breadbasket. Blue denotes the skies over the vast land, while yellow stands for the grain growing in the huge wheatfields.

Your may keep these cards for your collection or send them to a friend.

More than 40% of small businesses in Ukraine are women-owned and are currently the sole income for their families due to numerous men’s responsibility to join the fight against Russia. As wives kissed their husbands goodbye as they headed to the frontline and children cried as they watched their cities and homes devastated by the turmoil of war, the strong women of the nation continue to work diligently to create beautiful products to support their small businesses and now you can help support them while obtaining a piece of their rich history delivered right to your door!

The colorful egg is called a pysanka, a Ukrainian version of Easter eggs, decorated with various symbols and inscriptions. The word “Pysanky” comes from the Ukrainian verb “pysaty”, which means “to write.” Over 2000 year ago, before Christianity, people decorated eggs believing that great powers were embodied in the eggs. Ukrainian Easter Egg decorating has been handed down though generations of Ukrainian people.

Our pysanka has a decorative and educational character. It is made of wood and painted by hand by a master from the city of Ternopil, Ukraine. The pysanka is decorated by a complicated dye process similar to batik. Pure beeswax is heated and applied with a stylis or kistka to the wooden (originally raw) egg. The egg is dipped in multiple dye baths. Between each dipping, wax is applied over areas where the preceding color is to remain. After the final color has set, all the wax is removed and varnish is applied.
The color of the Easter egg and the symbolism depicted on the egg also carries its own special code. Let’s see some examples of symbols you may find on your pysanka.

Cross – signifies the four corners of the world and the resurrection and the savior
Dots – represent stars in heaven or the tears of the Virgin Mary at Christ’s crucifiction
Plant Symbols – new life, growth
Meander line - endless line vertically or horizontal around the egg symbolizing eternity
Water - symbolizing wealth; no crops without rain
Trees - renewal and creation
Star - represents God’s love to man; purity and life
Pine Needles – long life, youth, health and stamina
Diamond - indicates knowledge

Each egg is a unique masterpiece of intertwining symbolism and color that will last indefinitely with proper care and handling. You may use it to decorate your home and get acquainted with Ukrainian culture. It will also make a great gift.
