Hey, friends! It’s been awhile since we asked for help but our New Hope family is in desperate need of assistance. For some time now conditions in Haiti have made life much harder for the people living there. Rising costs of just about everything make an already touch situation even tougher, and as you likely know, the political climate there is so volatile that it would be very dangerous for us to even visit like we used to. We’d like to ask for your help on their behalf. This is a list Edgard, New Hope’s father, sent to us. We would greatly appreciate your help in raising the funds to cover some of these urgent needs.
•Funds for medical expenses for the children – many of the children have been sick recently with typhoid and required doctor’s visits, medicines and scans. The first picture here is Lovena’s visit to the doctor a week ago. ☹️ She was very ill and had to be admitted.
•Many of the children are outgrowing their beds. The beds have broken and are unable to be used.
•Funds for small necessities – toothbrushes, toothpaste, toiletries, soap, etc.
•While we do have sponsors for many of the children to cover food for the month, the sponsorship donations do not stretch to cover the family’s monthly food budget like they once did. If you would like to make a longer term commitment, we would love it if you would consider sponsoring a child for $45 a month.
•Their stove is no longer working in the kitchen. They are currently cooking over fire.
•The upcoming school year starts in September. A new school year means new expenses – books, supplies, uniforms and tuition for all the children.
Donations can be sent through the link below and as a 501c3 nonprofit, all donations are tax deductible. If you’d like to send a check payment, please let me know and I’ll give you the information. Thank you so much in advance for any help you can give us. 💕

On this Giving Tuesday, we are humbly asking for your help. Life is very difficult for our kiddos at New Hope Orphanage. More difficult than ever. Gangs are essentially running the streets of Haiti right now…more than 200 of them around the country. It’s so dangerous to leave home. They are kidnapping, setting up roadblocks, using violence to control neighborhoods and taking over gas stations which means it’s not even possible for many to go out. We’ve heard that it can cost as much as $20 USD for a gallon of gas. And you know what happens when gas prices are high…everything is more expensive. The cost of basic necessities - rice, beans, propane - is soaring. Our kids are still going to school but that’s about all they can do. We still owe school fees and many of them are attending class without the proper uniforms or books. On top of that, Christmas is coming and we would love to be able to give them a little celebration with some small gifts and a nice hearty meal. Every single dollar will go to the children and to making their lives a little easier in these troubling times. We are a 501c3 non-profit, so every donation is also tax deductible. Thank you in advance for your consideration! 💕 Link to donate: http://zanmiproject.weebly.com/donate.html
Not being able to visit Haiti right now (lots of safety concerns) is breaking our heart. It’s rainy season on the island and the orphanage is in dire need of some work. The roof on the lower level is covered with the metal sheets we used to have on the playground at our old property. They are now several years old and failing. Aside from water filling the yard when it rains, the roof is leaking and they’re constantly having to sweep the water out of the part of the house where they cook and hang out. We’re extra worried, as hurricane season is upon us. Thanks to some recent donations including a very generous one frim Townsend Congregational Church, we have almost half of the $3,000 it will take to replace and reinforce the roof. If you’d like to help, you can visit this link to make a donation. 100% goes directly to Haiti and literally every dollar helps. Anything we raise over the cost of the roof will go towards some solutions to fix the flooding problem in the yard. As you probably know, we are a 501c3, so as always, your donation is tax deductible! 😢🙏🏼 http://zanmiproject.weebly.com/donate.html
