It is estimated that more than 90% of patients who undergo abdominal or pelvic surgery will develop postoperative adhesions. Additionally, adhesions can cause chronic pain (in the abdomen, lower back, neck, hips, etc), infertility, [digestive issues], and increased complexity of subsequent intra-abdominal operations.
The effects of scar tissue and adhesions can seem dormant or as though you do not have them and can affect you 'out of the blue'. Learning and practicing three-dimensional breathing exercises is your best defense to keep the tissue mobile.

Dawn came to me with a big birthday on the horizon and a goal that both excited and scared her.
She was turning 50 and wanted to run her first 5K before celebrating with candles and cake.
When we started working together, she hadn’t run more than a block in years and was unsure her body could handle it.
We took it slow at first, focusing on building her strength and stamina with gentle walks.
But it wasn’t long before she was running!
And just two weeks before her birthday, she crossed the finish line of her first 5K, filled with pride and joy.
What I love most about Dawn’s story? She viewed her milestone birthday as a chance to tackle a new challenge, not a reason to hold back.
