Yesterday was a special day. I was invited to my daughters elementary school to kick off Read Across America week with a reading of Max the Anti-Bullying Bulldog. The story, written by my mom, and accompanying Max the Bulldog plushie, was a collaboration between my parents that was brought to life 8 years ago.

I’m honored to have had the opportunity to share my parents message about always treating others with kindness. We were also able to give each student their very own Max the Bulldog plushie keychain, which was the icing on the cake for the students!

And I just know my dad would have gotten a kick out of seeing the amount of students proudly rocking their Max keychain on their backpacks today!

Below is a personal note that I wanted to share as we begin a new year…

This photo is of my dad, proudly hugging a collection of Luckables. I’m heartbroken to share that on Christmas Day, my dad passed away after battling cancer for the last few months. It’s impossible to put into words how much he’ll be missed. He was so much more than a typical father role - he was my mentor, collaborator, friend and the inspiration behind Luckables. Up until the very end, when he could barely talk, he was still telling the nurses and doctors in the hospital about Luckables.

While he may not physically be here with me, I know he’ll be helping to guide me, as I look to evolve Luckables and our plush offerings in 2026. 💔
