New type of Email Scam/Attack - the "helpful security expert" Here is a new type of email scam/threat that I saw in the wild today and it is quite clever. The email reads like a "helpful security expert" has "scanned your system" and has "found some vulnerabilities" that sound scary. Interestingly they don't come right out with "an ask", but they DO follow up....

Amazon is, by default unless you opt-out, enabling a new feature called "Sidewalk". What this does is allow any other person's devices to use your home internet connection to get online without your knowledge or permission. I dunno about you, but that is a firm "no thanks" in our book.

Here is how you stop it, once the feature appears (it may not show up yet, but it will). For now it's showing up in the Ring Doorbell system (an Amazon product). It is going to expand to other Amazon devices later FYI.

Within the Ring App, click the three line icon to bring up the menu. Click the "Control Center" menu option. Click "Sidewalk", and turn it off there.
