We are enjoying this new space much more than anticipated.

For this year’s Tour de France, between stage 7 and the start of stage 8 in the town to Bergerac, I’m going to check off one of my biggest bucket list items, visiting the home of Montaigne. I discovered his writing in high school and he’s one of the authors (like Thoreau) that I have found so much solace and richness in reading throughout my life. The new Château was rebuilt in 1885 after a fire, but the tower on the corner, where he retired and wrote and eventually died remains. I’ll be able to able to visit the library and study where he spent his retirement and wrote the work that has had such a profound influence on my life. 🙏
