Before the fireworks on the Fourth of July, I slipped away to the lake for a quiet moment.

It felt like my own little retreat...the light on the water soft and peaceful, a gentle contrast to the lively energy of the beach earlier that day.

Places like this remind us how much we grow. We come back again and again, but each time we’re a little different.
In that stillness, I felt grateful for the chance to pause and simply be.

That sense of reflection is at the heart of Yellow Brick Legacy.
If you’ve been thinking about your own next chapter, I’d love for you to join me for a free guided reflection session on July 21.
Sometimes all it takes is a little space to see what’s ahead.

I found this on a park bench during my walk today.

It felt like such a perfect reminder.

Sometimes the things we carry can make us feel like we’re the only one.

The worry about a parent.
The uncertainty about what’s next.
The grief that still shows up.
The pressure to hold everything together.
The question you keep asking yourself but rarely say out loud.

One of the things that struck me during last night’s reflection session was how often someone shared something deeply personal and others quietly nodded.

Not because the stories were the same.

But because the feelings underneath them were.

We all arrived carrying different things, but many of us left with the same reminder:

You are not alone.

Just finished the last class in a 7-week pottery series.

If there had been an award for “Least Accomplished Student,” I might have won it. 😄

I have two tiny vessels to show for seven weeks of work, both waiting to be glazed.

But there’s something about showing up week after week, even when you’re not particularly good at something. Even when your ego takes a few hits.

Today I learned a pottery term: fluxing.

It’s what happens when glaze transforms in the kiln—the stage where chemical change occurs.

I’ve always loved the phrase "in flux." Being between two states. No longer what you were, not yet what you’ll become.

Lately, that feels familiar.

After leaving a long corporate career, building something new, and navigating a season of change, I’ve spent more time in the in-between than I expected.

The in-between can feel uncomfortable. Uncertain. Messy.

But maybe being in flux isn’t a problem to solve.

Maybe it’s a sign that transformation is already underway.

Whatever feels unfinished in your life right now, I hope you’ll be gentle with yourself. Some things need time in the kiln before they reveal what they’re becoming.

Our Spring Yellow Brick Legacy cohort wrapped up last night. ❤️

Over the past five weeks, a small group of thoughtful people gathered to reflect on what matters most, explore the legacies they’ve inherited and hope to leave behind, write legacy letters, and have conversations that are often postponed for “someday.”

Watching participants move from strangers to trusted companions—and seeing the courage, wisdom, and vulnerability that emerged along the way—was a gift.

As one participant shared:

“Oh my gosh, that was amazing. It was instantly therapeutic.”

If you’ve been curious about Yellow Brick Legacy but aren’t quite ready to commit to a full cohort, there’s still room in my free online Reflection Session on June 2 from 7:00–7:45 PM ET.

The session is a gentle opportunity to pause, reflect, do a short writing exercise, and connect with others around questions of meaning, purpose, and legacy.

No preparation required. Just bring yourself.

If you’d like to join us, send me a message and I’ll be happy to share the details.

Plan boldly. Live fully. Leave a legacy.

There’s something powerful about giving yourself a little space to pause… and actually listen to what’s been sitting just beneath the surface.

This Wednesday at 7pm ET, I’m hosting a free Yellow Brick Legacy session on Zoom.

It’s a small, intimate space with a few gentle prompts to help you reflect, reconnect, and put some thoughts into words. No pressure to share, just an opportunity to show up for yourself in a different way.

If Wednesday doesn’t work, I’ll be offering another session on May 20 at 7pm ET.

If you’ve been feeling the pull to slow down, get clear, or simply take a breath in the middle of everything…this might be for you.

Comment or DM me and I’ll send you the details and add you to the invite 💛

My daughter wanted a photo with her and her pup, Sadie…so I took this.

Sadie isn’t even looking at the camera, but that’s what makes it feel so genuine.

There’s something about this moment...a smile, a deep exhale, a few dog kisses that don’t care about grades, college decisions, or fitting in.

Kids (especially big kids) are carrying a lot these days. And sometimes what they need most is a small moment like this to reset.

Honestly, I think the same is true for us.

Many of the women I work with have built full, sometimes complicated lives. They’re typically not looking to change everything but they ARE looking to pause, reflect, and appreciate what they’ve created as they think about what’s next.

That’s the space I try to create in Yellow Brick Legacy.

My next small online cohort starts just after Memorial Day. We’ve just reached quorum and have a few spots left.

If you’re curious, I’m happy to share more.

When was the last time you had a moment like this?

I went on a weekday hike in South Mountain Reservation today. High 60s, quiet trails, one of those early spring days that just feels… easy.

A few times, we got a little turned around.

Nothing dramatic—but enough to feel that quick spike of wait… are we off?

And then, each time, we found the markers again. Back on track.

(There was even a yellow one that felt especially fitting for me 😂)

It stayed with me:

Someone had to mark those trails before we ever showed up.
If the path isn’t clear, people lose their way.
And for whatever reason, we tend to remember the few moments of uncertainty more than all the time things were working just fine.

It made me think about how much we carry—lessons, perspective, lived experience—that never quite gets made visible.

That’s a big part of what I’m exploring in Yellow Brick Legacy.

I’m hosting a free online session tomorrow night (4/28 at 7p ET). It’s a simple, guided space to reflect a bit—nothing heavy, just a chance to pause and put a few things into words.

If you’ve been curious, you’re welcome to join. Just comment or message me and I’ll send details.

What are you carrying… in your head, your heart, and your courage?

Over time, we all accumulate things:
beliefs we’ve formed, experiences that shaped us, responsibilities we’ve taken on, and stories we’ve never quite put into words.

In Yellow Brick Legacy, I guide women through this reflection using a simple but powerful lens:
✨ Head — what we know and believe
✨ Heart — what we feel and hold
✨ Courage — how we choose to move forward

Because legacy isn’t just what we leave behind.
It’s what we understand, carry, and ultimately choose to express.

If you’ve ever felt the pull to pause and make sense of your own story, I’m opening up a way to experience this work.

On April 28 at 7pm ET, I’m hosting a free 45-minute guided session:
“What Are You Carrying?”

It’s a chance to:
• reflect on what’s been shaping you
• notice what you’ve been holding
• and begin putting some of it into words

No preparation needed.
No pressure to share.
Just a thoughtful, structured space to start.

If this resonates, drop a “curious” below or message me and I’ll send details.

I spent today at a conference at Columbia Business School called “Legacying Together.”

I’m not part of a family business, so I wasn’t totally sure what to expect. But I decided to attend since the topic is very aligned with the work I’ve been doing at Yellow Brick Legacy…just through a different lens.

A day of great panels and speakers left me feeling full and engaged. But a specific story shared by members of the Ferragamo family stuck with me.

Their grandmother, Wanda Ferragamo, who ran the business after Salvatore died, gave each of her 23 grandchildren a small silver doll. If you knocked it over, it would pop right back up. Inside was an inscription along the lines of: “Always get up again when life knocks you down.”

I love the simplicity of that.

Not a speech. Not something abstract. Just an object that carries meaning.

It made me think about the ruby slippers from The Wizard of Oz.

(And yes, I’m aware Judy Garland’s slippers weren’t Ferragamo… but the connection isn’t lost on me 😊)

They’re not just shoes.
They carry the idea that what you need has been there all along… just like your own two feet.

And it made me reflect on how legacy actually gets passed down—

Not just through what we say, but through what we attach meaning to.
Objects. Stories. Small, specific things that stay with people.

The “silver dolls” in our lives.

Curious—what’s something you’ve carried with you over time that shaped how you move through the world?
