MFEE is fortunate to work with an incredible group of interns, including AmeriCorps members from local universities, an intern from the Rutgers Scarlet Service Internship (RSSI) Program, and Montclair High School seniors in the Career Internship Program.
Recently, Dory Hack, our director of innovative programming, led a training session on the project management and communication tools that keep our work moving, including Slack, Trello, and Airtable. These hands-on experiences help build real-world skills in collaboration, organization, and technology. We're grateful for the energy, talent, and curiosity these students bring to the team every day.

Who's ready for summer? ☀️💦
Students in MFEE’s Oruguitas program, which provides year-round bilingual academic support, kicked off the season with a splashing good time at a pool party hosted by one of our dedicated volunteer literacy tutors!
A huge thank you to Susan McLaury for treating these Montclair Public Schools students to a day filled with laughter and poolside fun. We’re also grateful to MFEE’s amazing interns, who jumped in as helpers and lifeguards to make the day safe and memorable.
“Our Oruguitas volunteers care so deeply about providing learning and joy to this special group of kids,” said MFEE Executive Director Masiel Rodriquez-Vars. And the parents could not be more grateful. "Every smile of our children reflects the effort and commitment you put into your work," shared one mom.
From making a splash in the pool to building confidence in the classroom, Oruguitas is helping students learn, grow, and thrive. Learn more: https://www.mfee.org/oruguitas
