Experienced Gardeners Wanted: Montclair, NJ

Part time, freelance, position maintaining upscale, private residential gardens for noted landscape design firm. Previous gardening, plus knowledge of common plants and horticulture practices important. Seeking strong individuals that are not afraid of manual labor, getting dirty and, at times, working in heat or light rain.

Job responsibilities include:

Weeding, pruning, deadheading, staking, lifting/dividing perennials
Trouble-shooting general landscape issues
Communication with clientele
Opportunity for container design, season and holiday decorating

Position requires own vehicle, tools, English language fluency and the ability to communicate comfortably with clients as needed.

Hires must be able to work on their own with agility and speed and in variable weather conditions. A flair for the creative container design is a huge plus.

Work is seasonal and hours are somewhat flexible with fluctuations based on the weather. Position is freelance and paid on an hourly basis. Prefer local resident familiar with the area and resources. Hourly rate negotiable based on experience.

Use the entrance marked 'TRUCK ENTRY' (closer to Van Houten Avenue) and proceed past the main house and barn and up the road. My inventory will be on your RIGHT.
Maximum speed on the property is 5 MPH...please respect the speed limitation by driving slowly.
