Oparc participants enjoyed an interactive day at the OC Zoo, where they learned about different animals, explored the exhibits, and even had the chance to pet the friendly goats! ๐๐๐
Spending time with animals has been shown to reduce stress, spark curiosity, encourage learning, and create meaningful moments of connection. Whether itโs observing wildlife, interacting with farm animals, or simply spending time outdoors, these experiences can support emotional well-being and inspire a sense of wonder at any age. ๐โจ
This Disability Pride Month, weโre celebrating the importance of creating opportunities for everyone to learn, connect, and thrive.
Nick, an Oparc participant, took the stage at the Ovation Performance Arts Showcase with an incredible improv acting skit, bringing confidence, creativity, and so much joy to the audience. ๐ญ๐โจ

Learning lifesaving skills together! ๐ค๐๐
Oparc participants had the incredible opportunity to learn about CPR from the dedicated firefighters of the La Verne Fire Department. ๐๐จโ๐๐งโ๐๐
Everyone deserves access to safety education. For adults with disabilities, learning about CPR and emergency preparedness builds confidence, promotes independence, and empowers them to take action in an emergency. These experiences help create more inclusive communities where everyone has the opportunity to learn skills that can make a real difference.
A heartfelt thank you to the La Verne Fire Department for providing an engaging, hands-on training and for helping make lifesaving education accessible to all. โค๏ธ

๐๐ง June is Alzheimerโs & Brain Awareness Month๐ง ๐
This month, we stand with the millions of individuals, families, and caregivers impacted by Alzheimerโs disease and other forms of dementia.
Our brains are at the center of everything we do, from our memories and relationships to our ability to learn, create, and connect. By raising awareness, supporting research, and encouraging brain-healthy habits, we can help create a future with better care, treatment, and hope.
Join us in wearing purple, sharing resources, and spreading awareness to support those affected by Alzheimerโs and to honor the memories that shape who we are.
Check out Alzheimer's Association or Alz.org for more information! ๐
