Fifty-four years later, the first lunar landing remains synonymous with the living legend himself, Montclair's one and only Buzz Aldrin, who celebrated the mission's milestone with his wife Anca.

54 years ago today, launched…Eagle soaring from Earth atop the Saturn V, bound for the Moon. It seems like only yesterday that we embarked on the mission of a lifetime – a mission for all mankind, a mission I hope will continue to inspire well into our future.

July 20, 1969, the world witnessed one of the singular most important achievements in history - humans walking on the moon. Neil, Michael and I were proud to represent America as we took those giant leaps for mankind. It was a brilliant moment for the world and one of America’s finest hours.
