The project situated at the interchange of the Clark County 215 Beltway and Summerlin Parkway entails a comprehensive reconstruction of the existing interchange. This involves extensive roadway enhancements, reconfiguration of ramps, and the construction of new ramps.
A significant feature of this project is the incorporation of cellular concrete behind the MSE wall. The use of cellular concrete serves one main purposes; Load Reduction: Cellular concrete is lightweight compared to traditional fill material, which substantially reduces the load on underground utilities and adjacent channel structures. This is crucial for maintaining the integrity of existing infrastructure without the need of enhancing the overall stability of the site.
To further optimize construction efficiency, our equipment is set near a bike path from above the MSE wall. This is possible due to the small footprint and reduction of trucks needed to produce upwards of 14,000CY of class II material. Each cement load will produce roughly 120CY of cellular concrete material, significantly minimizing the volume of truck traffic in the area. By reducing the need for import traditional fill, we've effectively decreased truck traffic by a factor of ten. This reduction not only alleviates congestion but also enhances safety in the work zone, minimizing the disruption to the local community and surrounding environment.
