Established 1914, members of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States Auxiliary set out to serve the veterans of this country and our communities in honor of the sacrifices and commitment of every man and woman who has served in uniform.

Today, we proudly recognize and celebrate the incredible women veterans of Washington State.
From every branch of service and every generation, women have answered our nation's call with courage, dedication, and sacrifice. Their service has strengthened our military, our communities, and our country. We honor the trailblazers who paved the way and the women who continue to serve and lead today.
On behalf of the Department of Washington VFW, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to all women veterans for their unwavering commitment to our nation and the freedoms we enjoy.
We also recognize and thank VFW Commander-in-Chief Carol Whitmore for her leadership, advocacy, and dedication to veterans across America. Her service and commitment continue to inspire veterans and VFW members nationwide.
To all women who have worn our nation's uniform: thank you for your service, your sacrifice, and your enduring legacy.
