We had such a wonderful weekend here at the shelter, and we are so happy to report that all the shelter babies had a safe, fun, and fantastic 4th of July! 🎆🐶 We seriously couldn't have done it without our absolute hero, Greg. He took time out of his holiday weekend to come out and help us care for all the dogs, and we are just so incredibly lucky to have someone that dedicated in our corner! 🙌
And let’s talk about Ellen Hicks for a second—she completely saved the day by spoiling the staff with the most delicious pizza! 🍕🤤We enjoyed it so much! Thank you both for going above and beyond for us and the dogs; you guys are absolute rockstars and we appreciate you more than you know!
Speaking of rockstars, look who just walked in like they own the place! 😎 In this video, our dynamic duo, Pearl and Pepper, are showing off some seriously impressive leash skills and making it look completely effortless. These two have been putting in the hard work, and it shows in every perfectly paced step they take side-by-side without pulling!

🎆🐕 KEEPING OUR PUPS SAFE THIS FOURTH 🐕🎆
Normally on a Saturday, we try to bring a little humor to our post schedule, but there is honestly nothing funny about the 4th of July in dog rescue. More dogs will go missing today than almost any other day of the year, running in absolute fear for their lives while the rest of us celebrate. Don't get me wrong—we encourage everyone to celebrate! America's birthday is absolutely worth honoring, and marking our SEMIQUINCENTENNIAL (yep, 250 years!) is a massive milestone. But please, remember to keep your fur babies safe today. Secure them inside in an area they absolutely cannot escape, make sure they have collars with up-to-date tags on, and play some loud music to soothe them and drown out the booms, pops, and whistles.
I guess what we are trying to say is... what do you call a dog that does magic tricks? A Labracadabrador. 🪄🐕 (Look, we had to sneak a Saturday joke in here somewhere.)
