100.1 The Beat Weather Alert from the National Weather Service and Meteorologist Don Wheeler

The National Weather Service (SHV) has issued a/an Flash Flood Warning for Union Parish from 3:50 AM Saturday until 6:45 AM Saturday.

At 350 AM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have fallen so far early this morning, especially across Southern Columbia and Southern Union Counties. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are possible in the warned area through 645 am as another area of heavy rain will spread east from Southern Lafayette County Arkansas and Northern Webster Parish Louisiana. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

At 844 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 2 and 4 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 2 to 3 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
