Hello Ram Fam!

I am Janitra Underwood, and I am incredibly honored and excited to serve as the new principal of Robinson Elementary!

For the past 24 years, I have proudly served the Ouachita Parish School Board, and for the last four years, I have had the privilege of serving as principal of Shady Grove Elementary. Together, we experienced incredible growth, culminating in Shady Grove being recognized as the Top K-8 School for Growth in the State of Louisiana. While I'm proud of that accomplishment, I am most proud of the relationships we built with our students, staff, families, and community.

Returning to Robinson is especially meaningful because I once served here as a teacher. It is truly a full-circle moment to come back as principal. To our Swayze families, please know that I proudly share your Trojan roots as a former Swayze student. Having ties to Robinson, Shady Grove, and Swayze gives me a unique appreciation for each school community and a strong commitment to bringing us together as one.

This year, our theme is One Team, One Dream. As we begin this new chapter, my goal is to build a school where every student, staff member, family, and community partner feels welcomed, valued, and empowered. Together, we are One Ram Family, and I cannot wait to see all that we accomplish together.
