Excited to be presenting at the 2026 Transformative Teaching Conference! I’ll be sharing my work at University of California, Santa Cruz and Crystal Springs Uplands School in my session, “Teaching in the Age of AI: Strategies, Tools, and Integrity Practices from UC Settings for K–12 Educators.” 🌟

This forty-five-minute interactive workshop aligns with the conference theme, "Human in the Loop," by exploring the intersection of Artificial Intelligence and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI). My session will focus on bridging the gap between higher education strategies and K-12 classrooms, providing educators with actionable tools to maintain academic integrity while leveraging AI to create more inclusive learning environments.

New to Diversity Shelf, “How to Be an Antiracist” by Ibram X. Kendi isn’t just a book- it’s a call to action. Kendi reminds us that there’s no such thing as being “not racist.” Every day, we’re either upholding systems of racism or actively working to dismantle them. Blending memoir, history, ethics, and science, he takes us on a journey that’s both deeply personal and profoundly urgent, challenging us to imagine (and build) a society rooted in racial equity. If you’ve ever wondered what it really means to practice antiracism, this is your guide.

New to Diversity Shelf, “Privilege and Difference: Understanding Systems of Power” by Allan G. Johnson is a groundbreaking tool for anyone seeking to unpack how privilege shapes our society. Written in an accessible, conversational style, Johnson bridges theory with real-world examples that make complex ideas clear and relatable. This transformative read invites us to examine how privilege operates, how it connects to our own lives, and what it means for creating change. Widely used across classrooms and communities, this book continues to shed light on the often unseen systems of inequity—and how we can work toward justice together.
