First Annual Not My Child 5K Run/Walk Not My Child 5k Run/Walk and Community Fair

I had the pleasure of witnessing the Hamilton County Drug Court graduation ceremony...and it was beautiful! Present were Hamilton County Drug Court team, Hamilton County District Attorney Cody Wamp, Hamilton County Sheriff, Chattanooga Police, several judges, attorneys, past graduates, current program participants, friends and families of those graduating. Needless to say, it was quite a packed house.

Judge Dunn began the ceremony by addressing the graduates individually, offering affirmation and encouragement with words such as hope, joy and love. Each graduate was individually recognized and given time to speak. Some powerful quotes from the graduates include:

"This program is more than just say no to drugs"
"This program turned me into the person I should have been 20 years ago."
"Drug court helps you in the real world"
"I had no hope in myself...but you never gave up."
"I no longer live to die but am excited about the future"

We are thrilled to learn of this program, as some of these graduates could be our next scholarship recipients!
