I had the privilege of helping with the Mobile County Water Festival at Meadowlake Elementary this morning.💦🍀Thank you to Lisa Whatley and the Mobile County Conservation District for allowing me to participate in such a meaningful event.

Fourth grade students learned about the importance of protecting our local watersheds through several hands-on activities. Using the Enviroscape model, students created rainfall over a watershed and observed how pollution can impact our water systems. They also built water filters to demonstrate how harmful substances can be removed from water.

I was especially excited to assist with the edible aquifer station, where students built a model aquifer, inserted a well pipe, and created a pump to demonstrate how we access and use groundwater beneath the surface.

It was a great day of learning and a wonderful opportunity to help students better understand the importance of clean water and environmental stewardship.💦🍀 mobilecountypublicschools Mobile County-Alabama Extension Mobile County Conservation District
