Wilson Harps

Freehand sketching and then relief carving a dragon on the escutcheon to add a personal touch to this 26 string harp, definitely a fun challenge!

New harp Ríoga 32 made from pomelle hardwood, such a gorgeous, rippling figured, nut brown wood.

New harp build, first dry fitting of all the main parts. She is rather matte now, but when varnished she should have ripples (chatoyance) as you look at the wood grain!

After catastrophe, repair, and restringing, the purple harp rises from the ashes of despair to sing… at least the soundboard came out really nice on this one!

From a limb off the Magnolia tree in my back yard, this Ríoga 32 harp build is getting it’s first dry fit of parts; & I get a first glimpse of what she’ll look like finished out (&dyed purple)

Soundboard is all tapered and ready to be attached to the shell, soundboard is signed and dated on the inside. Big milestone moment for this harp build! making

Prepping for vending at the upcoming Harp Gathering this may in Ohio, so I’m making a new Ríoga 32 out of Sapele Pomelle; she is coming together nicely so far!
