Jesus answered: “Don’t you know me, Philip, even after I have been among you such a long time? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father.” John 14:6-9

In the old covenant God’s people followed the ark that carried God’s presence. When God moved, they followed, always facing the ark. When God stopped, they set up camp, surrounding the ark with their tents facing inward toward the ark. They never worried about who had their back. God did.

In the New Covenant. We carry God’s presence with us everywhere we go. There is no physical ark or tents, but the shadow of the old is the substance in the new. Our minds need to be renewed to the same process of always facing God, allowing His Spirit to lead, not worrying about who has our back. God does.
