A new era of recreation has arrived in the Rio Grande Valley.

The City of Mission, with support from the Mission EDC, has officially unveiled Starlight at Shary, the Rio Grande Valley's first nighttime golf experience.

Backed by a $2 million investment, the project transforms the historic Shary Municipal Golf Course with illuminated fairways, upgraded course conditions, GPS-equipped golf carts, and The 19th Hole, a new gathering space designed for golfers, families, and friends to enjoy long after sunset.

Building on more than 90 years of golfing tradition, Starlight at Shary is enhancing quality of life, strengthening tourism, and positioning Mission as a leader in recreation and innovation.

What improvements could your downtown business make with an extra investment?

From fresh paint and new signage to landscaping, masonry, window replacement, and other property enhancements, the Mission EDC Downtown Assistance Program is designed to help businesses continue investing in the future of Downtown Mission.

Eligible businesses located on Conway Avenue from 1st to 18th Street (and one block east and west) may qualify for up to $25,000 in assistance for approved improvement projects.

Small investments create lasting impact, and together, we can continue building a vibrant, welcoming downtown district for residents, visitors, and entrepreneurs.
