Responsibilities of the Staff Accountant include preparation of financial statements and a variety of individual and business tax returns. This position includes direct client contact with the ability to work independently with appropriate oversight. Staff Accountants must be self-motivated and ambitious. You must also be highly organized and detail-oriented with strong time management skills and the ability to effectively balance speed and accuracy. Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to get along well with coworkers are required. Our ideal candidate has at least one year of professional accounting experience in the public and/or private sectors.

We are thrilled to introduce the new owners of Accounting Solutions!

Jay Blessum and his dad Mike Blessum have purchased the firm from owner and founder Marlys Magnuson. Marlys will continue working with the firm for the upcoming tax season, and will be enjoying retirement afterwards.

Jay graduated from Minot State University with a degree in accounting, and was licensed as a CPA at the age of 19.

Mike is a graduate of the University of North Dakota class of 1998. He brings over 25 years of business experience to the firm.

Jay and Mike look forward to continuing the client relationships that Marlys has built since the firm was founded in 2013.
