A Year in the Life of FINNEGANS 🌿🍺

September has always been my favorite month — the start of autumn, the beauty of change, the sense of transition. And for me, it’s often marked big turning points.

Twenty-five years ago, I launched FINNEGANS. One year ago, we closed our brewery doors and entered into an unusual — but promising — partnership with . Both moments felt like jumping off a cliff… and both have led to growth and unexpected positives.

Letting go of something that became part of my identity was hard. But the surprises have been welcome. I no longer carry the exhausting hours and constant stress of running everything alone. Instead, I’ve watched FINNEGANS thrive in a new home. Fulton’s taproom staff have embraced our brand as their own — their energy, knowledge, and passion bring me joy every time I visit.

The Fulton team shares FINNEGANS’ values, and in many ways, our partnership has simply expanded the mission with more talent and support. You don’t always see that written into a contract, but you feel it in the day-to-day actions. I’m grateful our core FINNEGANS team is now part of Fulton, still driving our vision of turning beer into food.

Where this all lands, I don’t know. But this September, I’m celebrating risks taken, challenges overcome, and $2.5M in community impact — possible because FINNEGANS exists, and continues to exist, against the odds. I’m celebrating the countless volunteers, partners, and supporters who’ve made this journey possible. The ripples of this brand carry a million fingerprints.

FINNEGANS is celebrating 25 years of business on Thursday, September 25th and The Local - Minneapolis is thrilled to be hosting the after party.

Join us from 5pm - 7pm to celebrate with $5 pints, Split The F competitions and more!

The Irish Fair of Minnesota is just around the corner! 🇮🇪 Join us August 8–10 on Harriet Island in St. Paul!

For decades, FINNEGANS has proudly shown up for this celebration of Irish heritage, going all the way back to the early days when it was held at the University of St. Thomas.

What started as a humble sampling table has grown into a full-on FINNEGANS experience from Minnesota’s favorite Irish craft brewery—complete with a big booth, Reverse Food Truck activation, and a crew of amazing volunteers slinging merch, pouring samples, and sharing our mission of turning beer into food. 💚

This three-day event is 100% volunteer-powered. And while it’s a lot of work, it’s also one of the most joyful weekends of the year. With Irish music, traditional fare, bagpipes, sheepdog herding, local makers, and plenty of Irish beer, it’s a family-friendly good time you don’t want to miss. ☘️

Together, we’ve raised nearly $50,000 at the Fair—your help makes a real impact, and we'd love to have you on the team! 💚
