Northern Clay Center
Opened in 1990, Northern Clay Center is now an established ceramic arts organization. Through special programs, lectures, symposia, and publications, we reach a national and international audience, as well as a direct audience of regional participants. Other programs, such as the American Pottery Festival, McKnight Residencies, and other fellowship grants, bring national artists to the region to continually feed a lively exchange of ideas and aesthetics.

If you’ve been around Northern Clay Center lately, you may have noticed a few rabbits hopping through our studios, hallways, and kiln room.
Those curious visitors are part of Anonymous Artist Fellow Kara Zuzu’s newest body of work, created during her year-long Early Career Artist Residency at NCC.
This fall, Kara’s growing colony will travel to Pittsburgh for an installation at Contemporary Craft Contemporary Craft . While we’re keeping the full project under wraps for now, make sure to follow Kara’s story as she will be sharing more behind-the-scenes glimpses over the coming months as it all comes together!

This spring, we partnered with Minneapolis Public School’s Blind Low Vision Program. Together, 30 middle schoolers hand built mugs with the help of our talented teaching artists! Swipe to the end to see the finished projects!
