Today marks 3 years since I took Brianna on our first date, and wow, was I naive. Like many, I bought into the idea that friends shouldn’t date friends, so I used to date randos. Not trying to be petty—well, maybe a little 🤣—but what I really want to say is this: once my heart was fully settled on Jesus and I found contentment in my singleness, I gained the revelation and courage to pursue my wife.

My approach shifted from just wanting to grow individually or having someone by my side, to truly loving each other, serving God wholeheartedly, and impacting the world together. Brianna had always been a great friend with amazing character—not because she was trying to impress me or anyone else, but because that’s just who she is. She makes people better.
