I made this one for my husband’s Aunt Vicki (who has been an auntie to me, too, for 23 years now) when her husband Jim died. He was an outdoorsman, and they adventured their way through life together for many decades, so this design felt perfect as an everyday locket for her to keep him close and carry his grounded spirit with her as she finds new footing.

The coffee shop

It began in my childhood in the kitchen of a small town coffee shop. My parents owned it and I would sit in the corner waiting for my mom or dad to finish their work. My mom baked in the morning, I turned cake donuts in the hot oil. She made a perfect poached egg so that is still the bar to match!

Here in my studio, I keep returning to that subject. Ever interesting.
