We all know that accidents and medical emergencies don’t give us warning before they strike and this story is no different. My parents were in the process of changing insurance providers and inadvertently allowed a gap in their coverage. During this time, my father had a massive heart attack at age 49. As you can imagine, this uninsured “catastrophic health emergency” cost a small fortune. It was

***Nevada isn’t using Healthcare.gov in 2020***

New for Nevada in 2020...

Nevada clients who used Healthcare.gov to obtain health insurance in the past will need to use Nevada Health Link moving forward in 2020. Nevada WILL NOT be using the Healthcare.gov platform in 2020.

If you had an account with Healthcare.gov, you should have received an email from Nevada Health Link, that included your unique Access Code, informing you to go to their site and use that access code to claim your account. Once you’ve claimed your account, your previous Healthcare.gov information will be transferred over.
Follow the instructions to set up username and password etc. My assignment as your broker should have been transferred as well but you should verify. If not, you can select me to be your broker under the “Find Free Local Assistance” link.
You’re also encouraged to set up auto-renewal if you were not previously set up this way in Healthcare.gov.
Open Enrollment starts Nov. 1st and runs through Dec. 15th.
Contact me to schedule a review of your coverage during that time....I’d be glad to help!
As always, reach out to me if you have any questions...

Hi Friends,

I’ve been getting several calls about the recent rule change for Short Term Medical Plans (STMP’s), so I thought I would explain a few important details regarding this.

Recently the Trump administration made it possible for STMP’s to be purchased for a duration of 364 days with the option to renew the plans for up to 36 months.

Prior to this rule change, STMP’s could only be purchased for a duration of 364 days (some states like NV only 180 days) without the ability to renew the plan.

That said, you need to be aware that Nevada will continue to only allow STMP’s to be purchased for a duration of 180 days. After the plan ends you will have to wait 185 days before you can purchase another STMP.

Additionally, California just passed a bill banning the sale of STMP’s entirely.

I wish this were not the case because many clients could benefit from the low cost of STMP’s.

Feel free to give me a call or email me to schedule a phone appointment if you have questions or need help!

Cheers!

Everything you need to know about the latest HSA bills | BenefitsPRO 07/26/2018

Folks, I strongly recommenced reading this article!
It explains some VERY important positive changes to HSA, HRA and FSA health plans if the bill is passed.
Not only will there be major increases to the annual contribution limits but there will be great additions to what the funds can be used for.
Additionally, catastrophic plans will no longer be limited to those under the age of 30.
If your unsure of how these plans work I suggest giving me a call or do some independent research online.
This will be a game changer if passed!

Everything you need to know about the latest HSA bills | BenefitsPRO On Wednesday the House adopted two health care bills that expand tax-advantaged health care accounts including HSAs FSAs and HRAs. Here's what's in them.
