Milwaukee artist Ck Ledesma is building a living outdoor altar at the corner of North Avenue & 2nd Street. This is a year-long sculpture installation rooted in Santería tradition and dedicated to Yemayá, the Orisha of the ocean. It's powerful, it's community-rooted, and it's free to experience all year long.

"If You Put Your Ear to It, You Can Hear the Waves" opens June 11. On June 18 (the eve of Juneteenth), catch a free artist talk at Gallery 507 followed by a guided walk to the installation (5:30 to 8 p.m., with light snackage)
