Age vs Inactivity - We are designed to move and move well our whole life!
Fitting within the “bell curve” of fitness for your age group is not a win. What is often accepted as a natural aging process is rooted in thousands and thousands of decisions leading to an imperceptible shortening of health span (how long we live in a disease free state).
Until that moment by yourself that you ask, “What happened?”
You are capable of elevating, normal doesn’t cut it. Seek your optimal state of being, you are worth the effort!
Here’s the good news -
- It is never too late to build muscle
- It is never too late to improve cardiovascular function
- It is never too late to eat whole foods
- It is never too late to improve sleep hygiene
- It is never too late to step into authenticity
- It is never too late to ditch the survival protocols that may have been necessary at one time
Small beginnings are a step in the right direction.
Being simple is hard!
Do what is yours to do!
The world is a better place when 100% of you shows up!
Just because it is the way you have always worked doesn’t mean it is the optimal way to work or build a business/career. I don’t buy into “work/life balance”. Life is life and part of your life is most likely some work. There are times where things may seem out of balance, that is an opportunity to tune in to how you are feeling and set some parameters with how long you will CHOOSE to maintain the pace.
At peak training/working - sleep needs to be prioritized, diet needs to be spectacular, find the joy in the process with yourself and your relationships (happiness is a fools errand), schedule moments (even if only 5-10 minutes) to check in on your breathing pattern:
- [ ] Is it shallow?
- [ ] Can I take a satisfying breath?
- [ ] Is my diaphragm engaged?
- [ ] What is my diaphragm?
- [ ] Where am I?
We are bio-psycho-social-spiritual beings. Elevating in all 4 pillars is the key to continuous growth. The growth may “seesaw” at times but your awareness of optimizing each area goes a long way to 100% of you showing up to the party we call life. And, the world is a better place when you show up!

This guy crushed his Birkie! Cross Country Skiing 30 miles and this year he broke into the top 200 out of 4000 skiers! Jay set his goal early in 2024 and absolutely put in the work with the weights, on his bike and on his skis.
