When experiencing a power outage - Even though the power is off in the house, you are still able to use the hot water if you have a gas water heater. To use your stove top, have an adult carefully turn on the gas on the low setting and use a match or lighter to make a flame. Beware of high flames. If you happen to make the flame too high, turn off the gas, wait five minutes and re-light.
