🪩Visionary like Barack Obama and Phenomenal like Maya Angelou—it’s been so fun celebrating our ICONIC teachers this week! On Thursday we enjoyed “Yes We Can-dy” Bars and a pizza party and Friday we started off the day with rainbow sprinkle donuts. 🍩

Students delivered cards and a gift—“Still l Rise”, our school poem—along with many hugs and smiles!

Wow! What an amazing way to spend our Monday! Our students had the opportunity to learn about aerospace careers with Dr. Charles Allen, a Tuskegee Airman, at Waukesha Co Airport. He showcased how many roles it takes at an airport in order for a pilot to fly safely—from the engineers, to air traffic controllers, to the grounds crew (they were even battling a groundhog infestation during our visit!). Our trip also included an exclusive tour of a $800,000 private plane!

Lunch ‘N Learn experiences give our students unique exposure to possible pathways for their future. Dr. Allen will also be running an after school flight school for our students next year!

Happy Earth Day! 🌎

Today students at MX and Dr. Howard Fuller Collegiate Academy had a chance to celebrate at two great community events!

Students met Mayor Cavalier Johnson and heard his proclamation making today Veolia Ecofactory Day. We also participated in with Your Move MKE Inc. to clear garbage from neighborhood streets and storm drains. We challenge everyone to do their part in keeping our city beautiful and don’t litter! 🗑️
