Founder Factory hosted the Idea to Enterprise Pitch Night on Thursday at the Lubar Entrepreneurship Center and UWM Welcome Center at the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee.

The event provided the opportunity for leaders from Marquette University, Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin, Versiti, and UWM to pitch breakthrough ideas. Rather than celebrating unproven ideas, the event provided attendees with fully developed technologies ready for venture creation.

There were also structured networking opportunities, allowing attendees to meet directly with inventors and research teams following the presentations.

Founder Factory is part of the state's first Ignite Wisconsin cohort. The program was created to bring together innovative partners to grow the state's startup ecosystem, attract investment, and drive innovation.

The Founder Factory is a collaboration between the Universities of Wisconsin Office of Business & Entrepreneurship, the Center for Technology Commercialization, and the UWM Research Foundation.

Big step forward for sustainable innovation in Wisconsin. 🌱

The Wisconsin Institute for Sustainable Technology at UW-Stevens Point has opened a new compostability testing lab. This move strengthens the state’s leadership in advancing sustainable materials and a circular economy.

Supported by funding from WEDC and the U.S. Economic Development Administration, this new facility will help businesses validate compostable packaging and accelerate innovation that reduces waste.

Governor Tony Evers and WEDC Secretary & CEO John W. Miller joined partners at Wednesday’s ribbon cutting to celebrate this milestone.

It's great to see the collaboration driving real impact for Wisconsin's economy and environment.
