🎉 CHIP 2026 is officially underway! 🎉

We’re so excited to kick things off with an amazing group of 27 students placed at 23 host sites across the Milwaukee AHEC region.

They're just getting started today, and we can’t wait to see the impact they’ll make this summer! 🙌

We hosted our Culture Shock Community Health Immersion this past weekend, bringing students to Milwaukee for three days of learning, listening, and reflection on community‑driven health.

In partnership with Northwest Wisconsin AHEC, this experience brought together 16 students—8 in Ashland and 8 here in Milwaukee—to explore the similarities and differences between rural and urban healthcare. Through conversations with community leaders, site visits, and shared reflection, students examined how place, systems, and history shape health and access to care.

This immersion emphasized curiosity, humility, and learning from community—perspectives students will carry forward into future health careers.
