We've got seedlings!!

The kids made their own newspaper pots -- that can be planted directly into the ground or a larger container. Then chose which plants they wanted to grow.

We watered, watched and waited for the little green leaves to appear. Now that they've popped up the kids are drawing their seedlings in their nature journals! We love using our nature journals as they encourage a lot of observation of small details.

Soon the seedlings go home to be planted in a garden or pot!

Our students have been testing out their games ahead of our game design unit capstone coming up.

They have been working really hard and it's going to be a really fun capstone!

Lots of fun has been happening on our STEAM Thursdays. This session has been focused on building and designing with LEGOs! We've done super fun challenges such as:

📦Mystery box building: seeing if you can build the same thing as a build inside a mystery box, going on feel alone!
👾Symmetry challenges: creating half a design and trading with a friend to try to build the other half symmetrically.
🪑Tiny furniture! Building chairs, couches, and complete dining sets for cowboys, gnomes, and the nowhere man!
🏠Cabin build: building a cross-section replica of cabin 4
🅰️ Quackishly! Each child was given a letter to make and we combined them to make a very silly word!
