🚨 Smoke Alarm Installation Initiative 🚨

On Sunday morning, Baldwin County Fire Rescue, in partnership with the American Red Cross and Northridge Christian Church, proudly participated in their annual Serve Day by giving back to our community in a meaningful way.

Together, crews and volunteers installed over 60 smoke alarms throughout the Harrisburg community, helping to improve early fire detection and enhance the safety of our citizens. Installations were completed in areas surrounding 5th Street, Harrisburg Road, Laverne Circle, and Helen Circle.

We extend our sincere appreciation to Northridge Christian Church for their generous donation toward Fire and Life Safety resources and for providing dedicated volunteers to assist with installations. We would also like to thank the American Red Cross for supplying smoke alarms, fire safety education materials, and additional volunteers who made this effort possible.

Partnerships like these play a vital role in protecting lives and strengthening our community.

Working together, we make Baldwin County safer. 🔥

Life Saving Awards Issued@ Commissioners Meeting.

On December 28, 2025, personnel with Baldwin County Fire Rescue and Atrium EMS responded to a report of an unresponsive, non-breathing female patient. Upon arrival, crews discovered that a bystander had already initiated CPR, resulting in the patient regaining spontaneous respirations, at which time CPR was discontinued.

Fire personnel quickly assessed the patient and identified severely inadequate respirations at approximately three breaths per minute. Recognizing the critical nature of the patient’s condition, crews immediately began assisted ventilations using a bag-valve mask, improving the patient’s respiratory rate to an effective level.

During patient care, the patient became pulseless and apneic. Fire personnel promptly initiated high-quality CPR and continued life-saving interventions while applying the cardiac monitor/defibrillator. Upon the arrival of Atrium EMS, care was seamlessly transitioned, advanced cardiac monitoring and Advanced Life Support measures were initiated, and the patient was defibrillated again. A pulse was successfully restored.

Today, the patient is home, living a normal life with no deficits.

The rapid assessment, decisive actions, and seamless coordination of care demonstrated by Baldwin County Fire Rescue and Atrium EMS personnel directly contributed to the preservation of human life. Their performance reflects the highest standards of professionalism, training, and dedication to public safety.

For these actions, which contributed to saving a human life, the following members are hereby awarded the Life Saving Award:

• FF/EMT-I David Moose
• FF/Paramedic Chad Harrell
• Lieutenant Blake Robison
• Paramedic Justin Yerdon
• EMT TJ Burd

We are extremely proud of the professionalism, skill, and commitment demonstrated by these members. Their actions exemplify the mission and values of the fire service and highlight the importance of rapid intervention, teamwork, and ongoing training in protecting the citizens we serve.
