TLDR: new music on my birthday, 11/07
I turn forty, and my probably most loved song turns ten.

These are some photos (really good ones are by ) of me making the “Outlier” album. Countless hours, lots of care, lots of singing and playing guitar, and lots of agonizing in pro tools. I think it was the first volume in a long work I’m still adding to, about becoming a whole person as you claw your way through anxiety, depression, and major re-negotiations of everything you believed so vehemently. When you grow up Catholic, defiant, chemically imbalanced, and desperately hungry for a better way, maybe you make a folk rock album. Maybe you don’t, and you save your money and pick brighter happier hobbies, but this is me, so I did.

The song that seemed to resonate most easily was “Forgiveness.” I’ll say more about it in the coming days. But I made a new recording in the shed, and it sounds like me today. I hope you love it. And if you’ve gotten on board with me more recently, maybe it really will feel new.
