Our annual Toledo Zoo trip was a wild success (literally). Perfect weather, great company, and memories made!

This trip never gets old — already counting down to next year!

Today, our Young Adult Program students put independence into action! 🚌✨

We spent the day in Ann Arbor practicing real-life community and independent living skills by using TheRide public transportation system. Students learned how to read the bus schedule, plan routes, identify pick-up and drop-off times, purchase bus fare, and successfully use their day passes.

Once we arrived at Arborland, students practiced financial literacy skills by working on budgeting, identifying wants vs. needs, and making thoughtful purchasing decisions in the community.

These hands-on experiences are such an important part of building confidence, self-sufficiency, and preparing for everyday adult life. We are so proud of their hard work, responsibility, and growth! 👏

We officially launched our coffee & snack cart today! ☕️🍪

Our students have been working hard behind the scenes to make this happen. They’ve taken inventory, calculated pricing based on unit cost (while making a profit), helped create an order form, fulfilled and delivered orders, collected money, made change, and so much more.

We even learned how to use an espresso machine! ☕️

Beyond the business side, this experience gives students the opportunity to practice real-world communication skills as they interact with middle school staff during deliveries.

Students are gaining valuable, hands-on skills through this small business, and we’re so proud of all their hard work

Last week was Paraprofessional Appreciation Day, but since we were on Spring Break, we made sure to celebrate a little late—because our team is always worth celebrating 💙

A huge shoutout to Mr. Garry, Miss Amelia, Miss Autumn, and Miss Carmen for everything they do each and every day. Their patience, dedication, humor, and heart make such a difference in the lives of our students. From supporting learning to building meaningful connections, they truly help make our program a place where everyone can thrive.
