Today looked a little different in our house. 🇺🇸❤️

I spent part of the day trying to explain Memorial Day to my five and seven-year-old boys. They’re lucky enough to grow up surrounded by so many active duty military members, so in their minds, “military” means heroes they know, laugh with, and look up to.

As we talked about what Memorial Day truly means, they got quiet and finally said, “Mom… that’s so sad.” And honestly, they’re right.

I explained that today isn’t just about cookouts or a long weekend. It’s about remembering the brave men and women who didn’t get to come home to their families after serving our country. People who made the ultimate sacrifice so we could enjoy the freedoms we often take for granted.

Tonight, we’re thankful. Thankful for those who serve, those who sacrificed everything, and the families who continue carrying that loss every single day. ❤️🇺🇸

Hug your people a little tighter today. And may we never forget the true meaning behind Memorial Day.
