UNFORGIVENESS IS ONE OF THE STRONGEST FORMS OF CODEPENDENCY IN MARRIAGE.

READ THAT AGAIN.

UNFORGIVENESS IS THE DEVILS LEGAL (SPIRITUAL) ACCESS TO KEEP YOU BOUND TO THE BROKEN VERSION OF YOUR SPOUSE.

UNFORGIVENESS IS THE INTERNAL VOW THAT SAYS,

“I won’t let this go until they finally understand what they did.”

IT CONVINCES YOU THAT IF YOU HOLD ON LONG ENOUGH...MAYBE THEY’LL FEEL IT THE WAY YOU DID.

Maybe justice will come.
Maybe this pain will finally make sense.
Maybe staying angry will prevent it from happening again.

BUT THE ONLY THING UNFORGIVENESS PREVENTS... IS HEALING & RESTORATION.

HUSBANDS, HEAR THIS IN LOVE:

You will never be married to the bride God is sanctifying if you keep punishing the woman she used to be.

God wants to raise up a new wife.

A healed wife.
A beloved daughter, not a rebellious threat.

But your unforgiveness keeps dragging her back into shame.

You should be covering her in the word,
But you’re covering her in condemnation.

WIVES, HEAR THIS IN LOVE:

You will never be married to the son version of your husband if you keep demanding that the slave version of him pays you back.

God wants to raise up a new man.

A repenting man.
A son, not a slave.

But your unforgiveness keeps dragging him back into the sin he’s already been delivered from.

You say you’re standing in faith...

Yet you’ve rehearsed the narrative and justified the story God is trying to deliver you from.

UNFORGIVENESS WILL LEAVE YOU FEELING LIKE THERE ARE ONLY TWO OPTIONS...

ONE... Stay trapped in a broken marriage.
TWO... Get a divorce you did not want.

IT TRAPS YOU IN A FALSE BINARY BECAUSE THE SPIRIT BEHIND IT REMOVES THE THIRD OPTION:

Forgive.
Go through the fire.
Get delivered.
Put on the new self.

AND WALK IN THE NEW THING GOD IS DOING IN YOUR MARRIAGE.

BUT THE THIRD OPTION ONLY BECOMES VISIBLE WHEN YOUR HEART IS SURRENDERED.

“You shall keep on listening, but shall not understand; And you shall keep on looking, but shall not perceive; For the heart of this people has become dull, With their ears they scarcely hear, And they have closed their eyes, Otherwise they might see with their eyes, Hear with their ears, Understand with their heart, and return, AND I WOULD HEAL THEM.”

running water from your own well.

The grass is not greener on the other side, if it is that's because you're not watering your own grass. Drink from your own well, not someone else's. Don't get it twisted.
