I have been wondering for some time what the process is for the manufacturing some of the new parts found in many of today's fine timepieces. These parts require no polishing upon completion of the process as they are grown as you will see in the video. They are, many times, etched with the makers name and/or a number. The process is referred to as LIGA which is German for Lithographic (Lithography) Galvanoforming (Electroplating) Abformung (and Molding). The second video explains the process in a bit more detail for those who are interested. Please watch the video, it is amazing.
