What a BIG difference removing the wall between the kitchen and family room plus lowered ceiling made to this space! The hard part was, we had to add new beam in the dining room ceiling in order to modify the two weird doors between the kitchen and dining room. Maybe they were supposed to have swing doors like a restaurant designated IN vs OUT??? It was so strange.
