FAMILY DEVOTIONS!
How can we seek out Jesus?
Find the verses connected to the acronym and discuss these points as a family
S-Seek the Truth(John 8:32, John 14:6)
T-Test Everything( 1 Thessalonians 5:21, 1 John 4:1, Hebrews 13:8-9, 2 Corinthians 11:14)
A-Admit you are wrong(1 John 1:8, Proverbs 28:13, James 5:16, Romans 3:23)
R-Repent and Follow God(2 Chronicles 7:14, Luke 5:31-32, Luke 13:3, Acts 3:19, Acts 20:21, Romans 2:4-5, Revelations 3:19)
Something that helped my relationship with my parents and in turn with God was my parents being open and honest. What I mean by this, is by them sharing their testimonies. Hearing them share their story of who they were before Jesus and who they are now because of Jesus not only humanized them but set an example for me to follow. This in no means celebrated their sins but rather pointed to the redemptive power Jesus brought into their lives. Through their story I saw how they Sought Out the Truth, how they Tested Everything in that process, how they Admitted They Are Wrong, and how they Repented and Followed God! A big mistake we as believers make is forgetting that our testimonies have power. 1 Peter 3:15-16 says, “Instead, you must worship Christ as Lord of your life. And if someone asks about your hope as a believer, always be ready to explain it. But do this in a gentle and respectful way. Keep your conscience clear. Then if people speak against you, they will be ashamed when they see what a good life you live because you belong to Christ.” Parents, you have a tremendous responsibility to teach and lead your children. Don’t forget your testimony has power and is important for the growth of your children.
This week, I challenge you to share your testimony with your kids, I challenge you to keep your conscience clear as you lead by example, I challenge you to gather your family and seek God together. I challenge you to pray together. I challenge you to EARNESTLY SEEK God! I can’t wait to hear the stories about how God is working in your families.

FAMILY DEVOTIONS!
Family devotions are awesome! When I was growing up, my family did not believe in God or go to church. When we got saved, family devotions helped us grow spiritually and created a strong bond between us. I encourage you this week to do family devotions, prayer, and worship together as a family. This will establish in your family that our relationship with Jesus extends far beyond a Sunday morning.
It is so hard to seek the Lord in this day and age. Now more than ever, there are more distractions keeping us from EARNESTLY SEEKING the Lord and connecting with our families. Television, video games, social media and fatigue are just a few examples of things that are keeping us from truly seeking God. These are some of the things that keep our relationship with God a “Sunday morning only” type of relationship.
This week, I challenge you to gather your family and have a worship service in your living room. I challenge you to pray together. I challenge you to EARNESTLY SEEK God! I can’t wait to hear the stories about how God is working in your families.
