Website Redesign & Development Services

Organization Overview
Connecticut Legal Rights Project (CLRP), is a non-profit legal services office that represents low-income adults with mental health conditions that receive treatment and services from the Department and Mental Health and Addiction Services. Our clients are on locked units at state-operated psychiatric hospitals or reside in the community and seek representation in eviction or other housing matters related to their mental health.

CLRP is a nonprofit organization seeks to redesign and rebuild our website (clrp.org). Our previous website was managed by a third-party developer who is no longer available, and we are now seeking a new long-term web partner to support redesign, hosting transition, and ongoing maintenance.
Our goal is to create a modern, accessible, and easy-to-manage website that supports our mission, improves public engagement, and allows staff to update content without technical support. The majority of our clients are not able to access the internet while hospitalized, so website users are those residing the community, family, friends and mental health service providers.

Project Goals
We are looking for a vendor to:
• Redesign and modernize our existing website
• Improve usability, mobile responsiveness, and accessibility (WCAG compliance preferred)
• Ensure easy internal content management (no-code or low-code preferred)
• Improve site performance, SEO, and security
• Support transition from current unknown/legacy hosting environment
• Provide guidance on best platform for long-term sustainability

Current Situation
• Domain: clrp.org (owned by our organization)
• Current hosting: Previous developer managed hosting and has passed away
• We may need full site rebuild depending on recoverability of existing files
• We require assistance identifying what, if any, content can be salvaged

Required Features (Preferred)
Please indicate experience with the following:
• Content Management System (WordPress, Squarespace, or similar)
• Mobile-responsive design
• Accessibility compliance (ADA / WCAG 2.1 or higher)
• Donation integration (if applicable)
• Contact or intake forms with routing
• Blog or news section
• Basic SEO setup
• Analytics integration (Google Analytics or equivalent)
• Section of site to be password protected to share private content with select users.

Deliverables
We expect:
• Website design mockups (homepage + internal page templates)
• Fully developed and launched website
• Migration or rebuild of existing content (if possible)
• Training for staff on website updates
• Documentation of login credentials and system ownership

Hosting & Ownership Requirements
This is a critical requirement:
• All hosting accounts must be registered under our organization’s name
• We must have full administrative access to all systems
• No vendor lock-in or proprietary restrictions on content ownership
• Clear documentation of all credentials and systems upon completion

Budget Range
We anticipate a budget in the range of:
• $3,000 – $12,000 depending on scope and complexity
Please provide detailed pricing breakdowns including:
• Design
• Development
• Hosting setup
• Content migration
• Availability for questions, tutelage and maintenance.

Timeline
We are seeking:
• Project start: ASAP
• Initial concepts: within 2–3 weeks of kickoff
• Full launch: ideally within 6–10 weeks (flexible depending on scope)
