The front grille of this 1972 GMC C15 arrived severely deteriorated—heavy rust, multiple perforations, and an entire corner missing. To preserve the original component, the damaged profile was reconstructed by welding in new wire structure to re‑establish the factory geometry. Once the framework was solid, the bezel edge was reshaped using fiberglass reinforced filler, followed by lightweight finishing filler to refine contours and restore the OEM lines.

This repair maintains the authenticity of the original grille while giving it new structural integrity. The final stage will involve wrapping the restored surface in chrome automotive film, bringing back the classic GMC shine while honoring the legacy of the original part.
