This month we experienced great heartbreak when we found that one of our homes had been broken into. Thankfully no residents were harmed but holes were broken into the walls, wiring ripped out, countless electrical components damaged beyond repair, and the AC unit stolen. 

This setback is especially painful because our team had begun planning to turn the space into a community resilience hub and cooling station to provide resources, information, shade and water to our community.

A vigil is being held TONIGHT from 7:30pm-9:30pm for Tonea Nichole Miller, a young woman from Michigan who was found hanging from a tree in Gwen Cherry Park on June 18th. We are calling on all of our community to speak out against this horrible injustice.

Police are saying su***de, but the community suspects foul play. We will continue asking for answers, justice, and accountability for this tragedy. Our deepest Condolences to the family 🕯️
