We're excited to welcome the
Amernet String Quartet, performing with us at Illuminarts XII Anniversary Celebration an Evening of Art and Music at the Betsy Hotel!
The Amernet String Quartet is widely recognized as one of today's exceptional chamber ensembles, praised by The New York Times for its
"intelligence" and "immensely satisfying"
performances. Their sound has been described as both "complex" and rich with an "old world flavor," while The Strad Magazine has called them "a group of exceptional ability."

The quartet is comprised of Misha Vitenson (violin), Avi Nagin (violin), Michael Klotz (viola), and Jason Calloway (cello). They serve as Ensemble-in-Residence at Florida International University in Miami, where they combine an active international performance career with a strong commitment to education.

Join us for a 12th Anniversary Celebration of Art and Music in collaboration with the Betsy Hotel.

Featuring Elijah McCormack, Amernet String Quartet, Anna Fateeva, and Julia Zurilla, this program traces a journey from innocence to illusion to awakening through music by Britten, Glass, and Handel.

Friday, May 8 at 7:30 PM with a reception to follow.

We’re thrilled to welcome tenor James Reese to Songs of the Earth. Praised by New York Classical Review as “a shining tenor,” Reese is known for performances that are intimate, expressive, and deeply human. A leading interpreter of Baroque and early music, he has appeared with orchestras and ensembles across the U.S., Canada, and Europe, while also championing new works—premiering dozens of pieces by today’s composers. A GRAMMY Award–winning recording artist, his voice is celebrated as bright, agile, and full of heart.

🌍 About the program: Songs of the Earth weaves together music from past and present, exploring our connection to nature, time, and the human spirit through powerful and evocative works brought vividly to life.
