Meta announced on September 17th, it is introducing Instagram Teen Accounts, a new experience for teens, guided by parents.

Teen Accounts will have built-in protections which limit who can contact them and the content they see, and also provide new ways for teens to explore their interests.

Teens will automatically be placed into Teen Accounts, and teens under 16 will need a parent’s permission to change any of the settings to be less strict.

The plan is to place teens into Teen Accounts within 60 days in the US, UK, Canada and Australia, and to start placing them in Teen Accounts in the European Union later this year.

Teens around the world will start to get Teen Accounts in January 2025. Teen Accounts will also be implemented into other Meta platforms next year.

My interest in ethics comes from the thousands of times I've seen people and companies promote products and services in dishonest and irresponsible ways. From seeing people and companies take other people's work and pass it as their own without a care in the world.

Many overlook and ignore copyright infringement laws, thinking nothing will ever happen until it does. And it isn't only a matter of getting away with it.

Taking other people's work and passing it as your own does not speak well about your or your business as a whole. Would you trust a business that did that?

I care about sustainability because I care about quality of life. Because we must respect our time, limits, and overall well-being.

The hustle culture has been the default for years, and it can work for some, but if we're honest with ourselves, it leads to guilt and usually a disconnection from our closest people, even ourselves.

Yes, if you are younger, have no children, and have plenty of energy and drive to burn, go ahead; every person is different.

Honestly, though, it does not work that way for most people, especially after your twenties.

Some people still live to work, but many of us are going back to basics and realizing what brings us the most joy is making a living and enjoying quality time with ourselves or the people we love.

The new luxury, the new flex, is being home around the same time as your family so that you can share quality time with them. Luxury is taking more than a one-week vacation per year and being able to sleep in every now and then.

If you live and breathe the hustle culture, that is okay. But finding a balance that feels healthy for your body and mind is also perfectly OK. We work to live a good life; we don't live to work.
